A solid interlocking of rough wooden planks saturates the entire frame. The surface is a triumph of deep veins, knots, and scratches, enhanced by a grazing and warm light. In the center, a sturdy metal bolt is secured by a rusted chain and a golden padlock.

The pictorial illusion celebrates the tactile resistance of rustic materials. The oil on canvas perfectly imitates the aridity of wood exposed to the sun and the oxidized coldness of iron. The brushstrokes recreate the dramatic shadows of the chain, conferring an absolute three-dimensional volume.

The painting conveys a sense of inviolability and extreme protection. The wearing down of the elements becomes synonymous with enduring strength. It is an impassable threshold, guardian of precious silences.

The artist's voice

"Wood and iron age together in a pact of resistance. A locked padlock protects the sacredness of a private space."
