An irregular stone pavement dominates the scene with its warm, earthy tones. The recent rain has transformed the rough surface into a reflecting liquid mirror. In the lower section, a stone step marks a clear boundary.

The oil on canvas performs a visual miracle, capturing the fluid essence of water above the hardness of the stone. The hyperrealistic brushstrokes reproduce the delicate reflections of the gray sky wedged between the joints. The observer immediately perceives the fresh, damp air of the aftermath of rain.

The artist infuses poetry into a banal fragment of the street. The painting conveys a sensation of cleansing and renewal. It is a limpid image, dense with peace and silence.

The artist's voice

"Water erases the weight of the stone and makes it float. A wet pavement is the sky fallen to earth."
